Nevada PERS director nominated for federal board

CARSON CITY, Nev. — The executive director of the Nevada Public Employees Retirement System has been nominated to serve on a federal retirement investment board.

Dana Bilyeu was nominated by President Obama for the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board.

Her nomination was announced Tuesday by U.S. Sen. Harry Reid and will be subject to confirmation by the Senate.

The board is an independent government agency established to administer the Thrift Savings Plan, a tax-deferred retirement savings program for federal employees.

As executive director of Nevada’s public employee retirement system, Bilyeu oversees $21 billion in investment funds.
