Ramakant Goswami sworn-in as Delhi minister

NEW DELHI - In a reshuffle Wednesday, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inducted Ramakant Goswami to her cabinet while social welfare minister Mangat Ram Singhal was dropped.

Goswami was serving as the vice chairman of the Delhi Jal Board.

A Congress legislator from Rajendra Nagar, Goswami took the oath in Hindi. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna at Raj Bhavan here.

The Delhi government has seven cabinet ministers, including the chief minister.

Three-time member of the Delhi assembly, Goswami had earlier served as parliamentary secretary to the chief minister and as the chief whip of the party in the assembly.
