Hooda calls off rally after 3 rallyists die in accident

ROHTAK - Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Tuesday called off his public rally near here after three people, arriving to participate in it, died in a road accident.

The chief minister’s political advisor, Virender Singh, announced that three people arriving for the rally, had died in a road accident Tuesday near here.

Hooda led other leaders to observe a two-minute silence at the event and did not make a speech. The rally was scheduled to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Chhotu Ram, a provincial leader in pre-Independence India, at Sampla town near here.

Hooda later went to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, where the victims were taken after the accident.

He offered his condolences to the relatives of the victims who had rushed to the hospital on hearing the tragic news.

Virender Singh said the rally was postponed following the tragic accident.
