AGARTALA - The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Sunday reiterated its demand that Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa must quit over land scam allegations.

“The CPI-M and other Left parties demanded three months back that Yeddyurappa should quit as he was personally involved in the land scam,” CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat told reporters.

“The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) talks a lot about corruption. But they have a different stand when it comes to what is happening in Karnataka,” he said.

Karat’s statement comes in the wake of the Karnataka governor granting prosecution proceedings against Yeddyurappa over allegations that he gave away land to his family members.
