SURAT - Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has slammed Congress party for allegedly linking Hindu groups with extremism and said that there was no place for radical elements in the party.

Addressing party workers here on Sunday, Bhagwat said: “Congress is trying to link up RSS and other Hindu organisations with extremist forces to divert public attention.

“They are intentionally dragging the name of the members of Sangh. As per the government, most of the people involved in the extremist activities were outside the Sangh. Many people have left on their own and many people were told by the Sangh that aggressiveness wouldn’t work here. But still the government is dragging the name of the Sangh with extremism,” he added.

He said: “They are losing the vote bank. During election, their faces are unraveled in front of people. Now they are scared, so they defame us. So, they introduced a new word called Hindu terrorism (militancy).”

Bhagwat further said that Hindu and terrorism are two contradictory words. Even people in Pakistan haven’t dared so far to make any reference about Hindu Terrorism, but leaders in our own country are coining new terms every other moment, talking about saffron terrorism and more recently majority terrorism.

Bhagwat arrived in the city on Thursday to participate in the four-day meet organised by RSS Konkan and Gujarat regions. (ANI)
