Karunakaran’s death a great loss: Congress

NEW DELHI - The Congress Thursday condoled the death of veteran leader K. Karunakaran as a “great loss” and described him as “one of the tallest” leaders of the party.

Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said that Karunakaran, who died in Kerala at age 92, was “one of the tallest…most respected leaders of the party”.

She said the death of the four-times chief minister of Kerala was a “sad loss”.

“Since he was a freedom fighter, it is a great loss,” Natarajan said, and added that he was a leader who commanded tremendous respect among partymen.
