NEW DELHI - After stalling the Parliament for almost the entire Winter Session, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has decided to take its fight against corruption to the streets of the national capital today.

All major leaders of the NDA constituents have arrived in Delhi to take part in the massive rally to be held at the Ram Lila Maidan here.

The aim of the rally is to target the Congress-led UPA on various corruption scams that have hit the government over the past few months.

Talking to reporters, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said: “The NDA will hold “Mahasangram” rallies in major states including Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Haryana to expose the widespread corruption in the UPA government.”

“The government and the Prime Minister have given this right to ministers and Congress leaders. Now efforts are on to protect those involved in the scams,” he alleged.

Naqvi said that JD-U chief Sharad Yadav, Akali Dal leader Prakash Singh Badal and senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are among those who will participate in the rally which aims to take the fight against the UPA to the grassroot level.

The NDA rally is being held just two days after the Congress plenary where its leaders took turns to attack the BJP on issues ranging from right-wing terror to land scam in Karnataka. (ANI)
