NEW DELHI - The ruling Congress angrily protested when opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members shouted slogans against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi while being marshalled out from the Delhi Assembly Thursday.

The BJP members raised slogans against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit over the Commonwealth Games and said expenditure to the tune of Rs.23,000 crore should be explained to the people of the capital.

However, when Dikshit’s name was dragged into the matter by the BJP, not a single legislator protested.

But when the opposition raked up the names of the two Gandhis, almost all the Congress legislators got up from their seats and were joined by Dikshit and her cabinet ministers and vociferously protested the BJP’s move.

The BJP members were marshalled out of the house for the second day for not allowing the assembly to run as they demanded a house panel probe into CWG irregularities.

The proposal to evict them from the house was proposed by Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely.
