KANPUR - Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi praised Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for being able to reach out to the common man.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Joshi said Gandhi is doing a great job and political leaders should follow in his footsteps.

“He’s (Rahul Gandhi) doing a good job and politicians should do so. It’s not about being supportive of or strengthening the Congress party. It’s like saying that if any leader is reaching out to the common man and meeting the common people, it’s good,” said Joshi.

Joshi also said a leader must reach out to the common man to understand their problems and bring change in society.

“Anybody who wants to work for the society, even if he is not a leader and just wants to work for the welfare of the society, he cannot do that from a closed room. Anybody who wants to work for the welfare of the society and want to bring some changes in the society has to meet the common people,” said Joshi.
