Salman performs at Chhattisgarh anniversary event

RAIPUR - The weeklong celebrations to mark a decade of the foundation of Chhattisgarh state began here Tuesday on a colourful note with Bollywood star Salman Khan adding

glitz to the event.

Governor Shekhar Dutt formally opened the function which began at the Science College ground here where dozens of artists presented an impressive cultural show, which was followed by a scintillating dance performance by Salman.

The celebrations will conclude Nov 1, when the state completes a decade of its formation.

All departments of the state government put up massive stalls at the main function venue showcasing the ‘development journey’ of the state that came into existence with a split of Madhya Pradesh Nov 1, 2000.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda flew in to attend the inaugural function as special guests.
