KOLKATA - Senior Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Biman Bose slammed Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for her baseless allegations against his party over the recent metro train mishap in Kolkata.
Two coaches of a metro train derailed in an underground tunnel in Kolkata last Wednesday. No casualty was reported.
The train was running from northern Dumdum Station to southern Central Station and derailed at the Mahatma Gandhi station.
Bose also rubbished the TMC allegations about CPI (M) cadres indulging in violence under the disguise of Maoists.
“All these are rubbish, rather they, - People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) and the so-called CPI (Maoist) some time they are using the olive colour with the stripes of the Army dress. They use us,” Bose said on Sunday.
On Saturday, Banerjee blamed the CPI (M) for the train’s derailment.
“She (Mamata Banerjee) has been blaming CPI (M) for the railway and recent Metro accident. But this is because of the lack of safety measures. There is also no proper infrastructure, but she keeps announcing new trains,” said Bose.
