West Bengal government has ignored Darjeeling development: Mamata

KOLKATA - Countering allegations by West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee that the Trinamool Congress was creating trouble in the state, including in the Darjeeling hills, party supremo Mamata Banerjee Friday said he was making such statements because he was afraid of losing power.
If Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is worried about the hill people then why doesnt he visit and hear the people. He is afraid of losing power and is thus levelling weird allegations against the Trinamool Congress, said Mamata Banerjee.
I am not partial, I love the hills and plains and thats why I went there. I would recommend the prime minister to announce a special package for development of the hill areas after I meet him in Delhi. The entire hills are underdeveloped and nothing has been done by the CPI-M-led Left front government.
Buddhadeb has forgotten how to speak and how to behave and still now he is continuing as the chief minister of the state, Banerjee said, reacting to the chief minister accusing her of creating trouble at a rally here.
She said she will visit Maoist-affected West Midnapore Oct 5-6 and announce a slew of railway projects there and hold a rally at Midnapore Oct 6.
