Another ex-KU official granted sentencing delay

WICHITA, Kan. — A federal judge has delayed sentencing for a second former University of Kansas athletics official so he can help prosecutors investigate a $1 million ticket scalping scandal.

Brandon Simmons was assistant athletic director for sales and marketing at Kansas. He pleaded guilty in July to essentially knowing about the scam and hiding it from authorities.

U.S. District Judge Wesley Brown on Friday delayed sentencing to March 7 at Simmons’ request.

Also scheduled for sentencing that day is Jason Jeffries, the school’s former assistant director of ticket operations.
