CHANDIGARH - Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president and legislator Kuldeep Bishnoi Monday announced that he would boycott the ongoing monsoon session of the Haryana assembly.

A visibly upset Bishnoi blamed assembly speaker Harmohinder Singh Chatha for the boycott decision saying that the speaker was not allowing discussion on important matters raised by the opposition leaders.

“The speaker is running things inside the house as per his whims. My adjournment motion and other serious matters are not being allowed for discussion. I have decided to boycott the monsoon session as a protest,” Bishnoi said.

Bishnoi is the sole HJC legislator in the 90-member house after five of the HJC legislators deserted his party October last year and merged their group with the ruling Congress party.
