WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The address made by Barack Obama the US president today on the removal of US troops from the war torn Iraq came as a breather for the majority of residents. It drew mixed reaction from some quarters though. The President gave the speech from the Oval Office amidst full media glare. The speech was almost expected and the economist warned earlier about a possible and impending economy crisis owing to the escalating cost in Iraq warfare. The President used this speech to cover some vital economic issues the nation is facing which made the GOP see red. They lashed out at his speech later. The President made it clear that it is now time to withdraw the US troops from Iraq and considering the fact that over a trillion dollar has been spent in the purpose he does not want to take chances.
The President touched upon some prevalent and sensitive issues affecting the US economy these days. He expressed his belief that the residents of USA have overcome several large problems in the past and with their effort his government seeks to salvage the economy to a stable condition. The Republicans did not take the address of the President in a good spirit and they retaliated saying that his government is trying to focus on its own achievements and trying to undermine the contribution of the Republican government that was in power before Barack Obama.
Reacting to the presidential address the GOP members said that President Barack Obama initially opposed troop surge a few years back. To counter this the democrats said that the expenses made in the Republican regime burdened the US economy.
