BHOPAL - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari has said that whenever his party returns to power, it would protect every Muslim who loves being ideal patriot.
Addressing a public rally here on Thursday, Gadkari said: ” Congress Party spreads the notion that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is dangerous, if it comes to power the Muslim community would be annihilated, send them to Pakistan, if you want security then give your vote to us (Congress).
“I want to ask you have you faced any problem under the rule of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, when the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) was in power, when Atal Behari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, was there any injustice done to Muslims? I promise you that my party has the responsibility to protect all Indian Muslims who love their country,” he added
He also said that he expects the government to take up the cause of survivors of the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy from the Union Carbide plant with the US President Barack Obama when he visits India in early November.
“I expect the Central Government to take up (Bhopal Gas tragedy) issue with the US President. Union Carbide is a big company, they should pay at least 5000 crore as compensation for survivors of the tragedy. Their rehabilitation, their medical treatment and jobs for survivors should be taken care of,” he added.
He contended there were several cases filed against Sohrabuddin Sheikh that had been registered in a number of states, including Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
“Gujarat Police and Andhra Police, both are a part of the action which has been taken against Sohrabuddin, but I never understand why the CBI only wants to inquire about the Gujarat Police and they do not want to inquire about the Andhra Police. So, now, I want to make a very straight comment related with the subject that, in a country where the meaning of secularism was respect for all religions, now the meaning is appeasement for terrorists. The Congress party makes appeasement for terrorists for vote bank politics, it is very unfortunate,” Gadkari said.
Reiterating his party’s stand on building a temple in Ayodhya, Gadkari said his party would support the building of a mosque, but at some other place.
“On the basis of the faith of the majority community for Lord Rama, for them we said that a temple should be built at that place, that is our faith, our feeling. I also said apart from that place, if a mosque is built, then we would support it,” Gadkari said. (ANI)
