BJP ahead of Congress in Rajasthan civic polls

JAIPUR - The results of the election to 126 civic bodies in Rajasthan have been declared with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 57 posts of heads of civic bodies ahead of the Congress.
The Congress party managed to get 49 posts, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Independents have got 20 municipalities.
The BJP has won in 1260 places and Congress in 1157 for the election of ward members.
Twenty-one candidates of the NCP, two of Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI (M) and 637 Independents have won the seats as ward members.
The results of four out of the 3,096 wards are still to be announced. (ANI)
