BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The IT companies across the city if Bangalore is going to be effected in a major manner due to the ‘Bharat Bandh’ which has been called by the opposition parties in order to protest against the hike in fuel prices by the UPA government. Large number of IT companies which includes Wipro, Infosys Technologies would remain shut down due to the Bandh in Bangalore on Monday.

Krish Gopalakrishnan who is the Chief Executive of Infosys has revealed to the media that as a precautionary measure, the company has given holiday to all it employees in the Bangalore campus on Monday due to the bandh. As a result, the Infosys workers of the city would have to work on Saturday to compensate for the holiday. However, the company has made special arrangements for the employees who are part of the essential projects as well as the BPO services so that they can come down to office during the day when the strike would be observed across the city.

The scenario is quite similar in another IT firm, Wipro which has declared holiday for its employees on Monday while the workers would have to work on Saturday although its a weekend. However, the country’s largest IT company Tata Consulting Services (TCS) is said to have been undecided about whether to issue a leave to its employees in its Bangalore campus do to the bandh with a company official stating that the employees would be informed if the company takes any such decision. Given the fact that most of the means of transportation are likely to remain off roads owing to the bandh in Bangalore, many other organizations have also decided to give an off to its workers today.
