AHMEDABAD - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ananth Kumar has said that Gujarat Chief Minister Narender Modi would tour Bihar for the upcoming Assembly polls, thereby silencing all rumours of a breakdown between the BJP and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United (JDU).

Kumar said Narender Modi would take part in the campaigning in Bihar to solicit votes during the November 2010 Bihar Assembly elections.

Earlier, there were reports that the BJP had agreed to the request of Nitish Kumar not to permit Narender Modi to tour Bihar for the election campaign.

It has also been reported that most of the local dailies in Bihar portrayed both the leaders holding hands and Kumar hailing Modi. “We are going to win the Bihar elections. The alliance would continue to prosper. The BJP-JD (U) alliance would remain as strong as ever. And Narendra Modi would definitely campaign in Bihar,” said Ananth Kumar, who is also the BJP’s observer for Bihar affairs.

“Our winning spree would begin from Bihar. Bihar is the first link in the chain of nationwide political sweep for the BJP. I assure you that with your blessings and support, the BJP-JD (U) alliance would win in the Bihar polls,” he added. (ANI)
