Tenth Jharkhand power board chief in 9 years

RANCHI - The Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) Friday got its 10th chairman in nine years.

Shiva Basant, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was appointed the chairman, according to a government notification. He replaces IAS officer N.N. Pandey, who is also in charge of the power department.

Basant was the state chief secretary in 2009 and he was shifted as director general of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) here early this year.

In last seven months, the JSEB has got its third chairman. Pandey was appointed in January, replacing IAS officer A.K. Chug.
