BHOPAL - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday staged a demonstration here demanding to speed up Bhopal gas tragedy’s prime accused Warren Anderson’s extradition process.
The protestors also condemned the action of then Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh and demanded for his immediate arrest.
Singh allegedly allowed Anderson to leave Bhopal in the wake of gas tragedy in December 1984.
Demonstrators released black balloons, symbolic of their disappointment over June 7 court verdict and Anderson and Singh’s photographs in the air as a part of their protest.
They complained that the Union Government is not doing anything about the matter and demanded Arjun Singh’s arrest and Anderson’s extradition.
“Through these black balloons we demand the arrest and hanging of the culprit Anderson and action against the former Congress leader (Singh),” said Alok Sharma, BJP District head, Bhopal. (ANI)
