Electronics group spent $400,000 on lobbying in 1Q
WASHINGTON — The Consumer Electronics Association trade group spent $400,000 in the first quarter to lobby the federal government on electronics recycling, energy efficiency and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
That was a decrease of 2 percent from the $410,000 the trade group spent in the same quarter a year earlier and nearly 7 percent higher than the $490,000 it spent in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The group, which includes such member companies as Intel Corp. and Apple Inc., also lobbied the federal government on legislation related to trade and counterfeiting and other issues, according to the report filed with the House clerk’s office on April 20.
