Former India’s railway minister and parliamentarian Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will furiously beat food plates for three consecutive nights beginning April 24 to protest sky-rocketing price rise in India.
Prasad who is the head of the RJD, has given a call for nation-wide shutdown on April 27 to protest price rise across the country.
“The spiralling price rise has made life miserable for the common men but no step is being initiated at the level of the government to provide them succour”, a senior RJD leader and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi alleged.
She alleged that the poor villagers were dying of hunger but the government was hardly serious towards this vital issue.
“We are worried at the ground situation and hence have decided to take to the street to warn the government”, she said.
She said for three days preceding the day of shutdown, her party leaders would march through the streets beating plates to convey their anguish to the government and force the latter to initiate necessary step.
