GUJARAT, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Ending the suspense whether he would appear before the SIT at all, Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat finally approached the Supreme Court appointed body today. He was questioned for his involvement in the Gujarat Riots that rocked the nation in 2002 and resulted in the death of many people in his state. The senior BJP member reached the SIT office a few hours back. He became the first Chief Minister of a state to be asked for querying in a mass murder related case. It is quite well known that he along with his administration drew the flak for inciting religious extremists who led the riots in Ahmedabad.
However, when Narendra Modi the chief minister of Gujarat came to the SIT office, R K Raghavan, the chief of the body was not present there. He was reportedly questioned by the other leaders. A large number of reporters and photographers assembled at the building from the morning to cover the interrogation in detail. The chief minister appeared calm and exchanged pleasantries with the media persons at the SIT office. He was accused by Zakia Jaffery, the widow of Eshan Jaffery, former Congress MP, of plotting to murder 69 people in the infamous Gulbarg society riots.
Teesta Setalvald, an activist who has lambasted the Gujarat Chief minister Narendra Modi several times has expressed her satisfaction at the questioning. She said that the truth that the BJP has been trying to suppress for a long time will come to the forefront. However, BJP has rubbished rumors of the Chief monster receiving any setback at this questioning.
