VIRGINIA, (GaeaTimes.com)– Victory of Republican candidate Scott Brown in the Senate seat of Massachusetts is obviously not a positive sign for the health care reform bill, as its fate is yet to be decided in the Senate. Though the newly elected Republican Scott Brown can cause hindrance in the approval of the health care reform bill, Senator Jim Webb of Virginia, has urged to suspend the voting on the health care reform bill, till Scott Brown is sworn in as a Senator. The Democrat candidate also indicated that he is looking forward to work with him.

Democrat Senator Jim Webb, who has supported the health care reform bill congratulated Republican Scott Brown on his win. In his speech, he said that the campaigns of Massachusetts Senate election should not be considered as a referendum of the health care reform policy only. One should focus on the integrity as well as the openness of the governmental procedures. He said, “I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.”

According to the reports, not only Senator Jim Webb but also some other Democrats want to hold on the legislation of the health care bill till Republican Scott Brown is sworn and observes his responsibility as a Senator. Defeat in the Massachusetts seat is a great cause of concern for the Democratic Party. The demand of the candidates to suspend voting on the health care bill can disappoint them further as they might have to face difficulties in getting the bill approved by the Senate.
