HYDERABAD - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari Thursday termed the Congress as a party of “dacoits, looters and thieves” who were busy looting the country.
Addressing a public meeting here Thursday evening, he demanded resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his failure to check corruption.
“Congress is a party of dacoits, looters and thieves just like dacoits who loot a village and run away,” he said. “What will happen to the poor if the Congress continues to loot this country?”
He also appealed to people to join hands with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to “save democracy” in the country.
It was the last in the series of public meetings organised by the NDA across the country as part of its fight against corruption. “Prime minister says he is not as guilty as being made out. You tell us how much guilty you are. Is it 50 percent or 60 percent?” asked Gadkari.
The BJP chief said that a prime minister who does not know what his alliance partners or his officials were doing had no right to remain in office.
