Kosovo PM, one of the ‘biggest fish’ in organized crime: NATO document
By ANITuesday, January 25, 2011
LONDON - Leaked NATO military cables have alleged that Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci is one of the “biggest fish” in that country’s organized crime scene.
Thaci’s involvement is contained in a report prepared by the Council of Europe rapporteur, Dick Marty, and according to The Telegraph, close ally and senior politician Xhavit Haliti is assisting him.
Both are also said to have links to the Albanian mafia.
The Guardian, which reported the leaks, quoted a Kosovo government spokesman as dismissing the allegations.
“These are allegations that have circulated for over a decade… They are based on hearsay and intentional false Serbian intelligence,” the spokesman said.
The newspaper did not say how the secret military cables had been leaked. (ANI)
