CHENNAI - AIADMK General Secretary J. Jayalalithaa Wednesday said the party will focus on price rise, 2G spectrum scam, corruption and the misdeeds of the ruling DMK government in the coming assembly polls.
Speaking to reporters, she was non-committal on the party’s alliance with Vijaykants DMDK party.
jayalalithaa said Union Communications Minister Kapil Sibal has committed contempt of court by rubbishing the loss estimates of the comptroller and auditor general (CAG) in the allocation of 2G spectrum since CAG is a constitutional body.
Tamil Nadu is expected to go to polls by May this year.
The AIADMK supremo avoided questions about AIADMKs alliance with DMDK saying: No comments.
Queried whether DMDK had approached her party for talks, she said: I cannot answer such questions at this moment.
When asked about Tamil actor Vijay extending support to AIADMK as his father and movie director S.A. Chandrasekhar had met her, Jayalalithaa said: Yes, Vijays father met me. For further development you should ask them.
She also said leaders of two communist parties, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and AIADMK will meet in New Delhi Thursday to decide on a nation-wide agitation against the recent increase in petrol prices.
