Probe terror links of RSS: Congress

NEW DELHI - Taking a strong stand on the terror links of right-wing groups, the Congress Sunday called for an investigation into the links between terrorists and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
“The role of fundamentalist organisations in challenging the security of the nation can no longer be ignored,” a resolution passed unanimously at the Burari plenary said.
“The Indian National Congress calls upon the government to tackle this menace in the strongest possible manner and investigate the links between terrorists and the RSS and its sister organisations that have been uncovered in some recent cases.
“Terrorism from wherever it comes and whatever form it takes must be dealt with firmly and effectively.”
The resolution asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to give peace a chance.
“J&K being an integral part of India, the Congress urges the citizes of Jammu and Kashmir to give peace a chance. It is our hope that the sustained and uninterrupted dialogue that has been started will find a solution withing the framework of India’s democratic and federal political system.”
The resolution identified terrorism, insurgency and left-wing extremism as the “grave threats” to the country.
