JAMMU - The National Conference and Congress coordination committee in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to meet here Sunday to smoothen differences that have cropped up between the two ruling alliance partners.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, however, is not likely to attend the meeting, sources in the National Conference told IANS.
The National Conference will be represented by ministers Abdul Rahim Rathjer and Ali Mohammad Sagar.
The meeting, according to sources, will decide on the manner in which the National Conference and the Congress will participate in the forthcoming panchayat polls and also discuss ways to give an impetus to developmental activities in the state.
The coordination committee is meeting for the first time since July this year.
The sources said the two parties have been asked by the Congress leadership in New Delhi to sink their differences and work unitedly.
