Matt Lauer Interviews George W. Bush

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Former United States President George W. Bush told NBC’s Matt Lauer in an interview that was aired on Monday night that there were very decisions that he regretted taking during his years as the U.S. president. The interview with the NBC host that was aired last night witnessed the former American commander-in-chief talk about a variety of topics that included his years of presidency as well as many intriguing events of his personal life.

In conversation with Matt Lauer, the former U.S. president gave his insight on a variety of issues that included the 9/11 terror attacks, the use of waterboarding as a technique to interrogate suspects, as well the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Although George W. Bush reiterated that he made few mistakes during his active years as the president of the United States, he noted that his decision of flying over New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina has wrecked a havoc there, was something that he regretted. While talking about other things that he considers as a mistake, the former president said that his use of the phrase “mission accomplished” during the Iraq war was something that he should have avoided.

During last night’s interview with Matt Lauer, George W. Bush also recalled moments of his growing up years especially one particular experience when as a teenage boy he drives his mother to a hospital after she undergoes a miscarriage and carries the fetus in a jar. The former president says that this experience as a teenager had a major impact on him and influenced his anti-abortion stand.
