No question of being friends with Cameron: Clegg
By IANSSaturday, October 30, 2010
LONDON - British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg says his relationship with Prime Minister David Cameron is “not a question of being friends” and that they disagree on a lot of things.
“We text each other. It’s not a question of being friends. We get on fine. Because, by definition, we disagree about a lot of things, it’s strangely liberating. You can be straightforward,” Clegg says in the December issue of Esquire.
“We’re very candid. You have to be. You’re constantly making compromises. I don’t think either of us are personalities who, when we go into the office, need to look for friends,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
“I’m lucky, I’ve got lots of friends. I’m not hunting for friends,” Clegg says.
