Trust vote was not proper, says Bhardwaj

BANGALORE - The trust vote won by Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa Monday was not proper as there was no record of how many people had voted in favour of the trust vote and how many against, Governor H.R. Bhardwaj said Tuesday.
“The atmosphere of the house was vitiated by the presence of uniformed policemen and unauthorised people in the house,” the governor said at a press conference at the Raj Bhavan.
He called the press conference soon after he sent a letter to Yeddyurappa asking him to prove his majority again before 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Bhardwaj criticised the BJP government for “indulging in corruption” and not doing any developmental work.
“I am fed up with this kind of corruption,” he added.
After the trust vote on Monday, the Karnataka governor had in a report to New Delhi described the vote as a “farce” and recommended president’s rule. Bhardwaj said he had looked into proceedings and sent the report after looking into records.
The union cabinet meets Tuesday evening to discuss the issue.
