Cuomo deflects questions on affairs in NY gov race
ALBANY, N.Y. — Finally hit with the direct question, Democrat Andrew Cuomo refused to say if he had affairs during his failed marriage, an accusation raised by his opponent in New York’s nasty race for governor.
Cuomo wouldn’t answer the question posed by reporters after he chastised Republican Carl Paladino for making the allegation. Instead, Cuomo said at a Westchester County press event on Friday that he wouldn’t get into the gutter with Paladino.
In a TV ad Thursday, Paladino said reporters should look into Cuomo’s love life with the vigor they have looked into his personal affairs. Paladino said Cuomo’s “prowess is legendary.”
Cuomo wouldn’t respond to that comment, saying he wouldn’t stoop to such levels.
