NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- With the Supreme Court rejecting the plea to defer the verdict in the Babri Masjid case, all security measures in states across the country is likely to get beefed up in wake of the verdict that now would be delivered in the case on September 30. As the Supreme Court paved the way for the verdict in the Babri Masjid-Ram Temple title suit by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, the Centre has issued an advisory to increase the security in all states, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat as well as in Maharashtra.
Apprehending that the Babri Masjid verdict might spark communal tensions in various parts of the country, the Centre has asked the state governments to take all the possible measures to keep under control the law and order situation in case of any untoward incident. In the state of Uttar Pradesh, as many as 32 areas have been identified as sensitive zones which might witness strong reactions after the verdict is delivered on Thursday and consequently the government is likely to enhance the security measures in these areas with 5,200 armed guards already been provided to the state. A contingency plan has already been prepared by the Home Ministry so any untoward incidents can be dealt with in the proper fashion and the situation can be handled if communal tensions are triggered across part of the country.
A three-judge special bench comprising of Justice Sudhir Agarwal, D.V. Sharma and S.U. Khan would be delivering the much-awaited Babri Masjid verdict on September 30 after a special leave petition filed by Ramesh Chandra Tripathi was rejected by Supreme Court today.
