GAYA - In a bid to normalize relations between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday participated in a rally organized here as part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Vishwas Yatra.
The BJP had on Thursday deferred its decision on participating in the ‘Vishwas Yatra’.
Both Modi and Kumar boarded the same copter from Patna to attend rallies in Gaya district.
Modi had earlier refused to join Nitish Kumar in the rallies in protest against his decision to return the flood relief money given by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
In New Delhi, BJP President Nitin Gadkari held a meeting with Bihar party unit Chief C P Thakur and Sudhil Kumar Modi Thursday to discuss the alliance with JD(U).
During the meeting, party Central leadership insisted that no directions had been given to party’s Bihar unit about the Vishwas Yatra. (ANI)
