Bob Etheridge Attacking Student: Video
By Soumitra Mondal, Gaea News NetworkMonday, June 14, 2010
Bob Etheridge is under fire after the alleged video surfaced the internet which shows him in a physical confrontation with a young man on a street in Washington. The video posted in the YouTube seems to be of amateur quality and in it you can see the North Carolina lawmaker approaching the camera and the young reporter who appears to be in his twenties, says,
Hi, Congressman. How are you? Do you fully support the Obama agenda?
At this, Bob Etheridge appears to have been irritated and asks,
Who are you?
And then, Bob Etheridge knocks their camera to the ground. In the next shot, Bob Etheridge seems to grab the reporter’s wrist and continually asks them to identify themselves.
Tell me who you are … I have a right to know who you are.
The camera man then replies that they are there just for a project and they are just students. The student then asks Bob Etheridge,
Please let go of me
And at this the congressman grabs him by the neck.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the video.
Bob Etheridge has lost it.
Jon Thompson, NRCC spokesman, said in a statement on Monday.
His conduct is unbecoming of a member of Congress. It’s bad enough that he’s joined Obama’s assault on North Carolina jobs, but his physical assault on a college student goes beyond the pale.
