Bagram Attack Killed 7 Taliban in Bagram Air base : Latest Update

Kabul, Afghanistan (GaeaTimes.com) - The Taliban have attacked the US run Bagram Air base in Afghanistan early Wednesday killing seven militants. This base is located 60 kilometers north of Kabul and in Afghanistan it is the most important military base of NATO. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that 20 Talibani men wearing suicide vests entered the base. Four of them blew up explosives at the entrance to ease the entry of the remaining operatives. He also revealed that a “major firefight” took place at the base.
The U.S spokeswoman at Bagram, Major Virginia McCabe told that several insurgents had been killed in the attack that morning on Bagram Air Base. The fact which is has added a more graceful impact on the incident is that the attack on one of NATO’s biggest bases in Afghanistan comes a day after a suicide car bombing targeted a military convoy of the international alliance on a busy road in Kabul which killed 18 people, including five American troops and a Canadian solider & some Afghan civilians.
NATO’s senior civilian representative in Afghanistan, Mark Sedwill, warned of more rebelling activities in the coming days in a press conference in Kabul. But he also added that the violence would not deter international efforts to bring security to the country. He admitted that they have to face those unanticipated incident like yesterday.
According to the latest news, NATO forces are preparing to launch security operations against suspected militant bases in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar. In response, the insurgents have promised to step up attacks on diplomats, members of the Afghan government, lawmakers, NATO forces and foreign contractors.
