Himachal forest minister’s resignation accepted

SHIMLA - Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh Wednesday accepted the resignation of state Forest Minister J.P. Nadda, an official statement said.

Nadda, who has been appointed national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), resigned as cabinet minister March 18 to take up his new party assignment.

The portfolios of forest, science and technology, parliamentary affairs, elections, and law, which were held by Nadda would now be looked after by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
