UNITED STATES (GaeaTimes.com) — The former Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards has admitted that he is the father of Rielle Hunter’s daughter Quinn, while he ran for the White House and his wife Elizabeth Edwards battled cancer.

John Edwards said in a statement that “I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves.”

He also added that “It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter, and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me.”

According to ABC News, Andrew Young, reported as Rielle Hunter’s boyfriend said that John Edwards told him to get a doctor to fake the DNA results.

Andrew Young also said:

“And he asked me … to steal a diaper from the baby so he could secretly do a DNA test to find out if this [was] indeed his child.”

Mrs Elizabeth Edwards, who has breast cancer, has said that it does not matter to her whether her husband fathered a child with Ms Hunter or not.

Mrs Edwards also said: “That would be a part of John’s life but not a part of mine”

Mr Hickman added that “Elizabeth thinks that he should acknowledge this.”

According to report John Edwards is now facing a grand jury investigation into whether or not he misused campaign money in an attempt to keep this affair quiet.
