Rahul came, she saw, he said ‘Cheese’!

PANAJI - Arguably India’s most eligible bachelor Rahul Gandhi Tuesday turned the charm on in sunny Goa for an unsuspecting female student, waiting for a glimpse of the 39-year-old Congressman.
The girl (who could not be identified), studying for her post-graduation at the Goa University (GU) was waiting at the GU bus stop, a few yards from the varsity’s main gate to get a glimpse of Rahul Gandhi and perhaps a candid photo on her mobile phone.
As Rahul’s motorcade exited the varsity gates, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, on seeing the girl standing there, stopped his Innova car and alighted.
He asked her for her mobile phone and handed it to one of his security guards, asking him to click his photo with her, before zooming off for a meeting with Pradesh Congress Committee officials. Interestingly, when reporters asked the girl for her name, she at first refused to divulge her identity.
As she boarded her bus, a couple of minutes later with the media still pestering her for her name, she said her name was “Freida Pinto”, in all likelihood after the savvy “Slumdog Millionaire” actress.
Rahul Gandhi was in Goa on a half-day visit, during which he interacted with students and Congress officials in the state.
