Martin Luther King Jr. Day On Jan 18th Celebrated In US

TALLAHASSEE (GaeaTimes.com)– Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is celebrated every year on the third Monday of January commemorates the noble works of the leader for the development of the country. To honor the great leader, every year people in US observe this day as a federal holiday. However, this holiday is a little different from the other federal holidays, as people strive to do something good for mankind on this day. This year, on January 18th, people of the United States have planned different programs to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
According to the reports, keeping in mind the vision of Martin Luther King Jr., different organizations in US have planned cultural events to celebrate the day and remember him on January 18th. Many institutions have also organized some charitable programs for the development of the community. To pay homage to Martin Luther King Jr., the Inter Civic Council of the Southern Christian Leadership based in Tallahassee organized events that mainly involved black people. It has been reported that around one hundred black guests were invited to this occasion not only to pay him tribute but also for honoring people, who are still following the vision of the civic-rights leader.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is being celebrated on January 18th in US gives the opportunity to spread the message of the leader to the young generation. As the schools, colleges, government offices as well as several private organizations remain closed on this day, many people volunteers in the programs supporting humanitarian causes. The political leaders of the country also honor the leader of the nation on this day and speaks about the development of the country in all possible manner.
