BANGALORE - The Karnataka High Court Monday upheld the disqualification of five independent legislators from the assembly last October for rebelling against Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa while they were ministers in his cabinet.

A three-judge bench of Justice Mohan Shantangouder, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice A.S. Bopanna unanimously upheld the Oct 10, 2010 order of Speaker K.G. Bopaiah disqualifying the legislators - Gulihatti Shekar, D. Sudhakar, P.M. Narendra Swamy, Venkataramanappa and Shivaraj Tangadagi.

The legislators said they will move the Supreme Court against the high court ruling.
