Obama to hold has Va. backyard health care forum

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is revisiting the much-debated health care overhaul and making a new U.N. pitch for international cooperation on global poverty.

Obama will close out the day by appearing at a pair of Democratic fundraisers in New York.

Before flying north, the president will drop by a meeting of state health commissioners in the White House complex and then travel to suburban Falls Church, Va., to discuss the Patient’s Bill of Rights with citizens gathered in a backyard.

The event marks the six-month anniversary of Obama’s signing the bill. He’ll be joined by people who say they’re already benefiting from such provisions as allowing adult children to remain on their parents’ insurance until they reach 26.
