Sept 11 Presidential Speech Is Cautious

WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The president of the USA Barack Obama tried to sound cautious in his September 11 speech addressed to the residents on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack. He appealed to the US citizens to exhibit religious tolerance towards the Muslims staying in the country and treat them with compassion instead of hatred. He stressed on the fact that Islam is by no means the enemy of USA. He appealed to the residents of USA to remember that the fight is against the extremist religious groups but not against any particular religion including Islam. The 9/11 memorial of this year has got entangled in the controversy made by the Florida pastor named Terry Jones who said he would burn Quran on the occasion. The president vehemently objected to the idea and said that he is totally against such plans.

President Barack Obama praised former US President George W. Bush for the way he handled the volatile situation that was prevailing post the 9/11 attack. He reiterated his view in his September 11 speech that the extremist Islam organizations that are inciting others to resort to killing and violence do not follow the core values and ideologies of Islam themselves. The president said that the US army has lot of soldiers who follow Islam and they are no less patriotic than their Christian co workers.

He also said that the Muslim students and employees in USA should be treated with equality. President Barack Obama said in his September 11th speech that he is not a believer in the concept of retaliation as a solution to violence.
