MELBOURNE - Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd’s opponent has launched her election campaign in sky-high pink stilettos and a thigh-skimming dress.

Rebecca Docherty, 30, a one-time barmaid, tried to avoid the cameras after she was named as the Liberal National Party candidate for the Queensland seat of Griffith last week.

For an interview with Grazia magazine she was dressed head-to-heels in designer clothes.

“I have champagne tastes on a beer budget. I used to buy the glossy magazines just to look at the pictures,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I love high fashion but I can’t afford it,” she said.

Rudd, 52, holds Griffith, the safest Labor seat in Queensland, by a margin of 12.4 percent. He is expected to retain the seat. (ANI)
