RAIPUR - The Chhattisgarh assembly’s monsoon session, beginning Monday, is likely to be stormy as the opposition Congress said Sunday it would seek answers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on the repeated Maoist attacks in the state.

“The state is reeling under deadly attacks by Maoists and the state government has totally failed to handle Maoists. The Congress will seek a reply in the house about BJP government’s complete failure on Maoist front,” Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey told reporters.

The BJP has said that it would effectively counter the opposition charges in the house.

The Congress has 39 members in the 90-member state assembly while the ruling BJP has 48. The Bahujan Samaj Party has two members while one seat is vacant.

There will be just seven sittings of the monsoon session, which will conclude Aug 3.
