BHOPAL - Making life difficult for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Congress party on Wednesday disrupted the State assembly proceedings as it sought explanation from the CM over his statement that mafia was collecting money for his ouster from the office.

The Congress MLAs demanded that Chauhan must mention the name of the land mafia alleged by him.

“Sadhana Singh does not appear before the Lokayukta (ombudsman) and Chief Minister says that land grabbers are the reason. The only solution is that the Chief Minister will have to name those property grabbers,” said Congress MLA Karlpana Parulekar.

“If he doesn’t tell their names, then he does not have the right to be a Chief Minister. He should resign,” he added. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, however, defended himself by blaming the Opposition for boycotting the monsoon session of the Assembly.

“The opposition has nothing to do with the problems of the people neither are they worried about the State’s development. When we call a session for the development of the State, they boycott it,” said Chauhan.

“When this important monsoon session started, we expected that the opposition will raise the issues related to people’s interest, but the opposition is scared from me,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chauhan had made a statement in the assembly that the mafia is collecting money for his removal from the office. (ANI)
