PHOENIX (GaeaTimes.com)- With time the dispute over the controversial US immigration law in Arizona is growing. The president Barack Obama is trying to resolve the issue but Jan Brewer the governor of Arizona is staunchly supporting the law and despite the countrywide protests plans to go ahead with it. The situation has put the democrats in a tight spot and of the White House fails to come up with a potent solution on the issue it could give the republicans an upper hand in future. Jan Brewer went to Washington, D.C. to talk the issue with the President but the discussion has not brought any positive outcome. The white house tried to downplay the tension and said that the meeting went off well.

President Barack Obama, the US president said that the states belong to the USA need to work together to come up with a comprehensive policy on immigration reform. However, his efforts to persuade the Arizona governor to reform the immigration law proved to be futile. Jan Brewer kept on stressing that before any reform is done, the borders need to be secured first. The Arizona Governor even said that she will resist any endeavor by the Federal government to thwart the implementation of the disputed immigration law in her state.

The Arizona Governor also said that Arizona would not refrain from getting involved with a legal face off with the administration over the immigration law if required. It is quite well known that US President Barack Obama is among the detractors of the law along with a number of democrats. She referred to the online poll results on the law.
