Maoists defaming Mao, says CPI-M

CPI-M politburo member and parliamentarian Brinda Karat has said the Maoists are defaming Mao Zedong.

“The so-called Maoists are defaming Mao Zedong and Karl Marx. They (Maoists) have nothing to do with their thinking”, Karat told reporters on Thursday evening on the sidelines of Left’s campaign against price rise in Patna.

She alleged the Maoists had diverted from ideologies and were not even hesitating from shaking hands with bourgeois parties for vested interests.

“Their (Maoists’) only motive is to somehow weaken the CPI-M”, Karat alleged adding the Maoists were killing the persons who are fighting for the cause of common men, oppressed and the poor.
